Testnet is a beta platform for mainnet, which means most of the code should be the same. I think the discrepancy you are seeing will exist on both platforms. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe they coded some hooks into the testnet code to apply some of the statistics from mainnet into testnet. Could be.
